Date Day with John

John and I took advantage of the kids being in school and no cleaning lady today to escape to the city for a "Date".  And for us "dates" usually consist of food  during the day because we have the most energy and at night we just want to relax. We started out at a far off place (15 miles away) that took 1 and a 1/2 hours to get to but it was well worth it. (Note: It takes roughly 1-1 1/2 hours to do anything in the city proper and only 15 miles away. Boston traffic pales in comparison!)

We went to a place called Shri Sagar-CTR which is an iconic Benne dosa place. Benne dosa or benne dose, is a type of dosa which traces its origin from the city of Davangere in Karnataka, India. The term "benne dosa" in English language simply corresponds to butter dosa. It is prepared by addition of generous amount of butter while preparing the normal dosa, and accompanied by coconut chutney. John has been there 2 times before with other guests that have visited and has raved about it and always would say that nothing is as good as the dosas he has had at CTR. Today, I got to see what he was talking about and he was absolutely 100% correct. The dosa was super crispy on the outside and on the inside nice and spongy. The dosa is dreamy. After that wonderful breakfast, we are off to run some errands and then meet friends for lunch.

We met our friends at a place called Lazy Suzy. Our friend Deepak's close friend is the owner. Lazy Suzy is a Western Fare café, bakery. It was scrumptious and fueled us for our ride home and more errands. A great day all around with each other and friends.
