Azim Premji University Farewell-Class of 2019

Hmmm. Words can not even begin to express my happiness and sadness at this farewell. Friday evening the whole family went to the University where I have been taking classes, meet with my advisor, and engage with some incredible people. It was nice to show them around and see where I spend a lot of my time (Aside from traveling that is of course:-)and meet many of the friends that I talk about all the time.

The farewell was a school sponsored farewell for all the students in various masters programs where the first year students performed for the outgoing cohort. And of course some students that are leaving also performed. This was second best to a wedding in my books. It was nice to know some of the people that performed. Here are a couple of my favorites.

And then there was the after party with a few close friends and some people I met for the first time. It felt just like our gatherings at home. There was everything you could want for an after party. The two main ingredients were good people and good drinks and other stuff. Oh and a great terrace with a cool breeze. Much to my surprise, I did not feel awkward or uncomfortable since I did not know everyone. Usually I am a bit shy around people I do not know. But NOT Friday night. We had a blast. We played games, danced, and laughed a lot.

I am really happy for them and the places and adventures they are off to explore but I am going to miss them terribly. They are what have made my time in India feel like home...good friends that you can just hang with for hours. I will always think of them fondly and they will always remain close
in my heart.
