Grade 1 Lesson Plan- 5 Senses and Sense Organs

In August, at my orientation, they said to say "yes" to everything and I have been living by that dictum. Who would have ever thought that I would be helping to plan a lesson on the 5 senses and sense organs to 1st graders? My colleague, Michelle,  in one of my classes had an interview at Indus International where my kids go and where I work with a middle school teacher on project based learning. Michelle asked if we could brainstorm together and how could I refuse the opportunity to lesson plan. I love lesson planning and thinking about how to get students engaged in their learning.

It became a whole family affair. Michelle and I brainstormed together, we tested the lesson out on the boys and John drew Waldo on the paper. It came together beautifully. It reminded me that active learning is essential at every age.

All of you were so patient with me right from helping with the planning to listening to my trail classes to checking on me when I was feeling nervous on the final day !
