Brinda's "Day Off"
The University where I attend classes is closed this week and the school I am a participating observer has non-academic functions this week so I was home. I took advantage of the time to be home and not travel while the kids were in school. I also thought that it would be a good idea to rest my knee. I will have to say, I was really productive. Who knows when I will have another day like this so I made the best of it. Here was my to-do list:
1. Write out the banana bread recipe and distribute recipe to neighbours. (I decided that as a way to say thank you to so many people who have been so kind, I would bake banana bread that is my mom's recipe and is part of us. It has been a hit!) (I even figured out how to bake in a toaster oven without burning the bread!)

2. Order an auto rickshaw and Ken Barbie on Amazon India for Ashram.

3. Draft a presentation for my conference in Kochi. This took a long time. I am developing a presentation that talks about my project here in India and what I have learned so far. It can only be 15 minutes and needs to be interactive.
4. Try to confirm a cab to and from the airport based on a recommendation. It is harder than it sounds. Usually the cab drivers do not speak English so I am trying to tell them dates of when to pick us up and drop us off at the airport. I always get a "no problem" and then I hold my breathe and hope that it works out.
5. Write my love letter to John for Valentine's Day.
6. Joined an on-line class to learn more about Design Thinking Process.
7. Plan a trip in March around Holi to visit family and tour Jaipur. My list stops here. I only got some good websites to look at flights. I got an email at 11:45am informing us that school was going to end early so John and I needed to leave the house at 1:30pm because we needed to figure out if Ashram still had karate.

Cheers to a very productive day powered by self-motivation!
