Happy Birthday JJ!

James got to celebrate his birthday in India and he was so excited. So much so that we had to make sure we were back from our trip to Pondicherry so that he could go to school. The school has a policy that on your birthday, you get to wear "colored clothes" (that is what they call your non-uniform clothes). He was also excited to share treats with his classmates. Yesterday morning JJ got up 30 minutes early which is rare for him. Usually we are the ones that wake him up in the morning.

I really have so much to say about James and what he means to me but I am not sure words could do it any justice. As my first born, he has taught me how to be a mom, to be kind, to be patient, and to address conflict with empathy. I am not sure he knows how much he does for others by his presence alone. He is always thinking and wondering why things happen the way they do.

When we started this journey in London he asked about homeless people and he felt sad for them. He asked us if he could carry a pouch with some change and give change to homeless people. He did just that. And even on his birthday he saw that Ashram was sad that he was not getting any presents so James gave him his Pokemon containers because he just wanted the Pokemon cards. He is so kind and I hope throughout his life he can keep that kindness close to his heart.

Here is a photo journey of the second half of him being 7 in India...I will let the pictures speak for themselves.
